A private museum that is part of a hotel/resort complex on the island of Curaçao called Kura Hulanda, founded and funded by Dutch philanthropist Jacob Geert Dekker.

 
The museum is not just about slavery (it also deals with African anthropology in the Caribbean), but its most significant section is. In it, not only the history of slavery of black Africans, with an emphasis on the Caribbean and the Americas in general, is covered, but also its aftermath, up to the present day.

 
In a way, the Kura Hulanda museum can be regarded as the "slave destination" counterpart to the slave trade departure point of Maison des Esclaves, on Goree Island near Dakar, Senegal.

 
Opening times: Tuesdays to Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 
Admission: 10 USD (seniors and children under 12 years old: 7 USD)

  
The museum is located within the hotel complex of the same name (which in itself is quite a temptation!) between Klipstraat (Otrobanda) and Arubastraat, in Willemstad, Curaçao, Dutch Antilles, Caribbean.
