Disclaimer &

terms and conditions of use

--- see also imprint/Impressum and about ---

--- (a German-language version of this page is to be found here; and a detailled privacy policy is stated here) ---

  1. The content of this website is the product of a single author (see about) and all impressions, opinions and value judgements are this one author's personal views. Everybody is entitled to their own views. The expression of this author's views are not intended to impose these views on anybody, but at best to provide some input into others' forming their own views.
  1. The opinions, views and judgements expressed on these pages derive in most cases from personal experience plus the study of various resources (online, books, brochures, etc.; but this is not Wikipedia – exact details of sources are rarely given, except where direct quotations are used). In some cases where no first-hand experience could be obtained yet (see more on this here), only the latter forms the basis of what is written here. In those cases few value judgements are made at all and if so only tentatively.
  1. All views, judgements, rankings etc. based on personal experience at a given place pertain to what was found at the time of the author's personal visit to the place in question. Since there are many variables that can influence the personal experience one may have at any one place, no two visits will ever be 100% the same. Hence the experiences others may have at these places at different points in time and under different circumstances will most likely differ to varying degrees from the experiences described here.
  1. Few things become outdated more quickly than details given in the world of travel. This is especially true for practical details such as admission prices, fees, opening times and the like, which are prone to change at any time without any forewarning. Such details as given here are therefore only to be taken as a rough guideline. While great care has been taken in giving details as correct at the time of the author's visit, there is no guarantee that they may not have changed soon after. Attempts at regular updating are made wherever possible, but with so many hundreds of places covered it is simply impossible to keep on top of everything all the time. So some inconsistencies between details given here and actual ones found on any one day are inevitable. (If you become aware of any such inconsistencies or changed details, please let me know – contact me!)
  1. Directions are likewise only given as tentative, and especially figures for distances are mere estimates and they vary between road distances (sometimes calculated by GPS or other navigation software, sometimes only roughly guessed) and straight-line distances "as the crow flies" (estimated from maps or by the use of online tools such as Google Maps Distance Calculator). Similarly, figures given for times required are mere estimates as well – and according to personal preferences the actual amount of time anybody else will need at any places described here can be quite different.
  1. All information given on these pages is given AS IS for mere information purposes only – no warranty is given for its correctness, up-to-dateness, completeness, accuracy or usefulness. It remains each traveller's own responsibility to check ahead all relevant details for him or herself when going to the same places. This website's author does not accept any responsibility for inconveniences, losses or damages arising from the use of the information provided on this website.
  1. There are only relatively few external links on this website. Where they are given, no responsibility is accepted for the content of these other websites.
For contact emails, via the address given on this website's online 'contact' age, the privacy conventions for regular email correspondence apply. No addresses or other personal data will be passed on to third parties by unless express permission is given. It will be assumed that by making use of the contact service, the user agrees to their names and email addresses being temporarily stored on DT's mailserver, unless the user insists these have to be deleted instantly. This request can also be made at any point after sending a contact message/email.
  1. All texts provided on this website are in the original words of its single author (see also about and imprint), except where passages are explicitly marked as quotations or coming from other sources. For all this original text as well as all other content the copyright is owned by this website's author. Quoting of shorter passages in the conventional way is permissible as long as these quotations are properly marked as such and the source is given correctly (by stating the exact and complete URL), but any other use of text, especially copying larger passages without express prior written consent are not permissible, especially not for commercial purposes. Such larger scale external use may incur a licensing fee. Contact me for details. The same copyright also applies to all visual components of this website, from its logo to the photos – with regard to the latter see also this separate page!
Where content is reproduced that is not the work of this website's author, evey effort has been made to observe the copyright of third parties, in particular all quotations by clearly marking third party content as such. Should you discover on this website any third party content whose copyright you think has not been appropriately acknowledged, please notify me (contact) and such content will either be removed promptly or its use adapted/marked as requested.
