A small museum based on a private collection of all manner of memorabilia from the former "Iron Curtain" border between East and West Germany.
 
On display are the usual uniforms, medals, flags, signs, etc. plus a model of the border fortifications, and some larger exhibits such as former GDR border guard vehicles. The owner also has a large collection of photos taken over a long period of time before and around the time the border was dissolved.
  
The museum claims that it distinguishes itself from others in that visitors can not only look at the exhibits but even touch and use them (sit in vehicles, handle old communications gear, etc.) … whether that is really so I can't testify, as I haven't been been there myself yet.
 
Opening times: sources vary, but times appear to be quite restricted. At least at weekends the museum should be open in the afternoon (from 1 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. or 6 p.m.) between 1 May and 3 October (other sources say only to September).
 
Admission: no info found (the museum's website is generally pretty useless with regard to practical information).
 
Location: in the small hamlet of Göhr, near Schnega, in the Lüchow-Dannenberg region of Lower Saxony, Germany. Off the main road B71 about halfway between Uelzen and Salzwedel.
